SaaS product teams

Check the flows customers use every day

Sign-up, roles, billing and the work customers save. Write each as one sentence and check it on the deployed app before a release.

Vraelis fixture dashboard, broken mode

The problem

It looked fine on screen

01

Saved until the next reload

On the fixture dashboard, a new project appeared on screen. After one reload the page said No projects yet.

02

A setting that does not stick

A changed setting can look saved and be gone at the next sign-in. Say it must survive one, and the plan signs out and back in.

03

A private page that opens for anyone

Notewell's check covered this, and it passed: signed out, /dashboard sent the browser to sign in.

A real check

The project was gone after one reload

The Vraelis fixture dashboard, in its broken mode, keeps new projects in memory only. This is what the check recorded.

Vraelis fixture dashboard

Creating the project looked fine on screen. One reload later it was gone, which is the kind of bug nobody notices until a customer does.

From CI

Gate the release on exit code 0

Run the CLI in your pipeline against the preview deployment, with the sentence your customers would write.

bash
vraelis verify --url "$PREVIEW_URL" --claim "$CLAIM" --wait

Only exit code 0 ships. A new plan waits for a person. A re-check of an approved plan on the same host does not, within 24 hours and up to 10 times. Each new preview URL is a new host.

Examples, none of these has been run yet

  1. 01

A new visitor can sign up, confirm their email and reach an empty dashboard.

  2. 02

A viewer can open a project but does not see the Delete button.

  3. 03

Changing the billing email in Settings shows the new address after a reload.

  4. 04

A project one teammate creates appears for the other after a reload.

It checks what a customer sees in the browser, not your code or your database.
